The headline act is the new Dyson R3 Nurovi robot vacuum family, backed by a revamped purification range built on fresh HushJet technology. For shoppers who have watched Dyson move slowly in robotics, this is the clearest signal yet that the company intends to compete head-on with the best robot vacuums on the market.
A new robot family built to actually compete
For years Dyson’s robot cadence lagged behind rivals, with multi-year gaps between releases. That changed with the Spot+Scrub AI, and now the company is doubling down under the Nurovi brand with three distinct robots. The range is pitched at different budgets and floor types, but the common thread is smarter detection and a more thorough clean rather than raw marketing spec.
The R3 Nurovi Spot+Scrub UV flagship
The R3 Nurovi Spot+Scrub UV is the flagship, and its standout trick is an AI stain-detection system that fuses UV light, AI vision and a green laser to recognise nearly 200 types of household substances and objects. It uses Reuleaux triangle mopping pads that reach into corners, with dock-heated 75°C water for stubborn marks, plus a new Twin-capture system that separates fine and coarse debris with an acoustic piezo sensor adjusting suction in real time. The R1 Nurovi Dry is a dry-only sibling at £499.99, keeping the 21,000Pa cleaning power and a smaller dock — a sensible pick for carpeted homes that never need mopping.
HushJet purifiers: quieter and more powerful
Dyson’s bladeless fans had hit a performance ceiling, so the purification line now pivots to HushJet tech shaped like a jet engine, boosting output while keeping noise down. The HushJet Pure Cool+ Formaldehyde lands in October at £549.99 with up to three times the purification power of older models and personal cooling. The HushJet Hot Cool Pure+ (£549.99, December) adds heating for year-round use as a 3-in-1 machine. Alongside the robots, the W1 PencilWash hard-floor cleaner gets on-dock self-cleaning at £299.99.
